Our charts are built to help you identify what you’re looking at, but they’re not a substitute for professional medical or veterinary advice, and we won’t be able to respond fast enough for a genuine emergency.
If your question is about a specific species variation or regional difference (for example, a local subspecies that looks slightly different from what’s shown in our chart), let us know your general location when you write in, it genuinely helps us give a more useful answer or update the chart to note the variation.
If you’re not sure which chart to check first, feel free to just describe what you’re seeing, size, color, location, behavior, and we’ll point you in the right direction even if we can’t identify it over email with certainty.
